WHO Director-General's opening remarks at the media briefing on COVID-19 - 11 March 2020:

"We've never seen a pandemic caused by a coronavirus before. This is the first pandemic caused by a coronavirus. And we've never seen a pandemic that can be controlled before."

Today the whole world is battling Coronavirus. In such difficult times, to protect against corona, we need to increase our immunity the most, so that we can save ourselves and our loved ones from this epidemic. If we know that something can become dangerous with time then it is better to take precautionary measures to deal with the danger.

Prevention is better than cure

Only leave the house when there is an urgent need. Walking outside without any work is like calling for illness because bad times do not come by telling anyone, by doing this you are putting not only yourself but also your loved ones in danger.

Drink lots of water

Water works to remove toxic substances from our bodies, which reduces the risk of getting sick. Therefore, drink at least 7 to 8 glasses of water during the day from work.

Meditate at home

Meditation increases our immunity and helps in reducing stress. Due to this our health remains good. So, go out for meditation for 10 minutes a day.

Consume healthy food

Healthy eating helps us maintain a healthy weight and also lowers our risk of developing many diseases such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, and some cancers. Good food will help protect us from the threat of coronavirus. Eat only home-cooked food and eat only digestible food. Include protein in your diet.

Drink the decoction

The decoction makes our body strong and helps in fighting diseases. Drink herbal tea/decoction made from basil, cinnamon, black pepper, dry ginger, and dry grapes (raisins) once or twice a day. If required, jaggery and fresh lemon juice can also be added.

Intake Turmeric

Turmeric helps in boosting our immunity. Also, turmeric helps in detoxifying your liver. Turmeric also has healing properties. So definitely include turmeric in your diet. You can also take turmeric by mixing it in milk or you can also use turmeric while making vegetables.

Intake Vitamins

For the supply of vitamin A, include eggs, milk, carrots, and sweet potatoes in your diet. For vitamin C, take oranges, strawberries, tomatoes, kiwis, broccoli, and red and green peppers. Eat avocados, nuts, seeds, whole grain foods, spinach, and other dark leafy greens for vitamin E.
